Terms of Service

Last updated: October 24, 2026

These terms cover your use of Pongdot, the app for controlling your table-tennis ball launcher by voice, and of the pongdot.com website. By using it, you agree to them. The Spanish version prevails.

Using Pongdot

You may use Pongdot to control, by voice or on screen, a table-tennis ball launcher that you own or are allowed to use. A Pongdot account is optional; to create one, you must accept these terms and the privacy notice.

Ball launcher and training safety

The ball launcher is physical equipment that launches balls at speed. You are responsible for using it safely:

  • Place it on a stable surface, keep the play area clear, and never aim it at people, animals or fragile objects.
  • Pongdot sends commands to the ball launcher, but you are in control. Always know how to stop it. With no call running: tap STOP in the app. During a call: say "stop", or tap End call, the red button with the phone icon, in the app or on the lock screen. Also know where the ball launcher's power switch is.
  • Speech recognition can mishear a command and the Bluetooth link can lag or drop. If the ball launcher does not do what you expect, stop it and switch it off.
  • Supervise children and anyone else using the ball launcher, and never leave it running unattended.
  • Train within your physical condition, warm up before playing and rest when you need to.
  • Follow the ball launcher manufacturer's safety instructions.

Voice recognition

Speech recognition and the on-phone voice engine can get a command wrong. Check what the ball launcher does and stop it if it is not what you asked for.

Logs that improve the app

Only if you say yes to "Help us improve Pongdot?", which the app asks after about 3 minutes of use, or switch on "Help improve Pongdot" in Settings › Privacy, does the app send Pongdot the text of what it hears during a call, app events and your calibrations to improve the app, as the privacy notice explains. The audio never leaves your phone. You can switch it off at any time in Settings › Privacy.

Your profile

If you add a name, a club or a photo, they must be yours or you must have permission to use them, and they must not be offensive, misleading or illegal. We may remove a profile that breaks these terms.

Acceptable use

Do not use Pongdot to:

  • break the law or put other people at risk;
  • attempt to break, modify or gain unauthorised access to the app or its services;
  • use the ball launcher in a way its manufacturer does not intend.

No warranty

Pongdot is offered as it is, without warranty. We do not guarantee the ball launcher's behaviour, the accuracy of speech recognition, or that the connection always works. Features may change, break or be unavailable.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Pongdot is not liable for injuries, damage to people or property, or direct, indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the ball launcher or the app, including failures of speech recognition, of the connection or of the ball launcher itself.

Ending your use

You can stop using Pongdot whenever you like. Uninstalling the app deletes the data stored on your phone. If you delete your account, we also delete your synced routines and the logs tied to it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico.

Changes

If these terms change, we update the date on this page. Continuing to use Pongdot after a change means you accept the updated terms.
